GPS function parental control

Hello, can anyone recommend an app that will lock the gps satellite function on? I have employees that are accidentally disabling the gps which then tracks using cell towers. We would like to permanently track using satelites.

We are tracking our company owned vehicles and equipment, which is legal. Tracking decreases fuel consumption and reduces insurance costs.

Are you sure they are doing it accidentally? If there is no GPS widget on the home screen, it's awfully hard to disable it without it being deliberate.

I found a solution by going into Location and unchecked "Use wireless networks". When that box and "Use GPS satellites" box were both checked, the wireless networks seemed to take priority over the satellite loctation.

You can use SeekDroid (GTMedia) to remotely enable GPS. It's primarily an app to locate your lost or stolen device and will display it's location on a map as one of its many features. It doesn't lock the GPS permanently on but it may be a good, cost effective workaround for now. Another app to consider is Tasker (Crafty Apps). You may be able to create a Tasker profile to automatically turn on the GPS when the Google Navigation or Google Maps app is in use or perhaps possibly when the vehicle is moving or at a certain speed.
