GPS Icon flashing???

[Smudgie]

Just got the Maxx and loving it so far. I have noticed that when I turn on the phone the GPS icon flashes. Sometimes for just a few seconds but sometimes for a few minutes. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks

Likely a social network app trying to accesses location. Facebook has been really bad about it since update a few weeks ago.

Happens to me too, when opening Facebook.

I just toggle GPS on/off as needed using the nifty , included toggle widget. I'm not a big fan of having my location broadcast 24/7.

Basically, you have an application that's polling/transmitting your location when you see it flashing. It could be FB or a bunch of other apps. Star looking at your apps and go from there to make whatever settings you want to stop it, continue it, etc.
