Help GPS Issue?

Hello all, just curious to know if anyone else has ever had troubles with their gps.. Today I was with my dad and we were looking for a road to turn on and I thought I'd just take out my razr and open up maps to find where we are first, and then when I pressed find my location the blue dot kept jumping around the map, the closest it got to where we actually were was probably 20 miles... I know gps isn't accurate to the inch.. but I know 20 miles is definitely not right. Even right now as I sit in my home it says I am 2 city blocks south of here

Has anyone else run into this? This is my first time really using gps on my phone ever so I have no comparisons.

I have no problem with the speed, I'm just upset with the accuracy, 20 miles off is not acceptable to me.

I'm not seeing accuracy problems. Only thing I have noticed since ICS installed is the GPS is a tad slower to fix on satellites.

I suggest you install the free app "GPS Status". In GPS Status, go to TOOLS and then to Manage A GPS state. Once there do a reset and a download.

Tried the app, still not right, now its doing something odd... the Accuracy ring around the blue dot is growing and shrinking, and as I am sitting still at my desk the dot is moving around quite randomly. Its quite annoying that its acting like this, and rather disappointing.

You expect the GPS to perform optimally indoors .... at your desk......

Optimally no, exceptionally yes. I don't consider my placer dot to be running around in circles two blocks away from where I really am to be exceptional. My previous phone on a much worse network had much better results for the gps ( if you had the patients to let it lock on)

To note there is a nice big window right behind my desk.. I never did say I expected it to work perfect in doors, although it doesn't even work near perfect while I'm sitting outside on a clear day either. I must just have a bad egg the phone has other things that it does that factory resets have not fixed. Such as being connected to wifi but unable to use the internet, or not sending texts randomly having to power down phone to regain ability to do so. My patients is growing a little thin after only being on verizon for a little over a month now

I noticed that GPS acquisition is much longer now. It can be rather annoying at times.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier in this thread " Only thing I have noticed since ICS installed is the GPS is a tad slower to fix on satellites."

Anyway, GPS works very well otherwise. I have hands on with 2 other Raz Maxx's and they perform similarly. Indeed, waiting for satellite acquisition is the sore point for all. Indoors extremely slow with not all satellites fixing. Outdoors all satellites fixing but takes a minute or two.
