GPS/location-based Reminders on the Bionic?

I installed Spotty and a few others to check them out. Spotty told me yesterday an hour and a half after I got home that I was home (not at all helpful), and when I went past the grocery store, it never reminded me to pick up chocolate chips (so I missed out on cookies when I got home last night).

Doh! :P I just checked my battery usage, and found that Spoty Lite used 36%. I thought this app was supposed to use the available mobile/cellular network connection instead of the GPS when available so as to save battery life.

I really want to have an app that can give me reminders based on geographical locations. Is there an app that can do that and not cause such a horrible battery drain?

Q6: Depends upon the reminder - what you might look into doing is using something like Locale (expensive, but it was the first one on the market, and I bought it way back when...) or Tasker to set up your own reminders. I know that Locale does support Location-based settings, b/c I used it to turn off my phone automatically during class only when I was in the building that the class is being held in.

Of course, you'd have to set up your reminders by yourself, and ht learning curve for both apps (Tasker in particular) is pretty steep.

There are other apps like that, but I do not bother with them....

If you want a grocery list specific app, there are several, including my personal favorite - You've got shopping.

Spotty in and of itself should be working, perhaps you have either not enough location awareness running, or else you've got too many (I've turned off VZW location awareness, for example....)
