Help GPS Navigation

Cici Girl

Lurker
I have Android Auto and Google Maps on my phone.
Can you tell me what else I need for turn by turn directions?
I am driving down to Santa Barbara end of January and need help.

Thank You

Hi Cici and welcome to Android Forums!

You shouldn't need anything else. Just hit the microphone button and say "Navigate to (address) Santa Barbara, California". Should automatically open Maps and start navigating. What does it do instead?

I have a lot of Paid map apps on my phone, but in the end, none of them can match the latest version of Google Navigation for turn-by-turn. I hit the microphone and say "Take me home" when I am confused as to how best to do that.

Or, as mentioned, "Navigate to 123 anywhere street, San Diego, California" and let it run.

CoPilot USA is a great map app for sitting at the lunch counter and trying to figure out where to go, and what to see. But it is a PITA on the road, because once you make that "right turn" it does not verify that you are now on the correct road. It is just as dead as a log until it is time to turn again.
I quit using it, it is only a research tool now.
