GPS navigation?

Can anyone confirm if either AndNav2 or CoPilot Live (or any other) navigation software will run on a Tattoo?

Pete

Hi, I can confirm copilot is working on the tattoo, landscape doesn't but perfect in portrait.
I contacted ALK to ask when I could buy from the market but got no reply from them, using a "copy" until it appears in market.

Hi i'm using 8.0.0.398, only this version and above will work on the Tattoo.
Put the map in the copilot folder on the SD card, when it runs the first time it unpacks it to all the correct folders.

Good luck :)

AndNav2 works, the good news is it's free, the bad news is it downloads map data rather than having it on your device.

Get it here......

Download AndNav2

Pete

Edit... It seems you can have a map stored on your device.......

See this part of the AndNav wiki....

Edit 2

I have downloaded the maps for the UK, put them into the tiles directory (replacing the existing mapnik directory and saving the original on my laptop just in case.) and it works.

I have the latest version of Sygic Mobile Maps and it runs smoothly on Tattoo. Unfortunately, the audio capabilities are a bit limited - the phone is a bit quiet for my old and loud car ;-)

copilot received an update yesterday so it should hopefully be now be compatible with the Tattoo :)

Hi guys,

I can't find copilot on the market, is there anything special to do? Is it still available?

Thanks,

V.

Hi all,
I downloaded Copilot for the Tattoo (Orange UK) from the Android Market, and it downloaded and installed Ok, but on the first run it gave a "Force Close" (with the language selection screen in the background). I've tried rebooting the phone and redownloading etc, but always got the same thing. I've now uninstalled/refunded it.
I've reported it to Copilot but not had a response so far. Anyone else have the same thing? Could I have been doing something wrong?

Cheers.
