Help GPS Not Working on my ACE

I feel your pain - it took me absolutely ages of faffing and 6 different gps.conf files.

Incidentally, are you using a custom ROM as my GPS was fine on a stock version of Gingerbread?

I'm currently using a 2.2.1, from samfirmwares.com with the csc set to cpw.
However, gps seems to be working fine now, it just too a really long time the first couple of searches, but now its fixes within a few seconds :)

Hi, Is there any chance of you telling me or sending me the gps.conf file that works on your ace? I can not get mine to work at all.

Thanks in advance!

Hello every one.
i too using samsung galaxy ace.
i got firmware upgrade to ginger bread 2.3.5 first and 2.3.6 next

in both the versions, gps is not locating accuartely (accurate to 2000 meters and so its not perfect).
if i go to my roof top (above 3rd floor), it is showing accurately but it will not work next time when i use this on the road. it is working on roof top only.

i compared gps with galaxy y side by side. galaxy y is showing accurately on the road also.

i will try with samsung service centre

I was having the same problem with my Galaxy Ace -- just not finding satellites in any reasonable time (e.g. 10-15 minutes!). I tried a couple suggestions here (GPS Status, GPS Simple) to no avail. Finally I tried GPS Test (Chartcross Limited) -- a free app on Google Play. In a couple minutes I suddenly had 10 satellites with good info about where, signal strength, ...

But the main thing was that somehow "fixed" my problem. I suspect it set up my GPS conf file, tho don't know. Note this does NOT require a rooted phone. So now Google Maps and Map My Hike now quickly (a few seconds) find satellites with GPS working.

Hope this helps someone else with this problem.
