GPS & Pandora are cool and all...

...but both applications are total battery hogs. Am I missing something, or do you guys only use these applications with the phone plugged in?
 
Ive noticed gps is a battery hog any any device.

I use slacker radio (same as pandora) and it doesnt use that much battery. At least not as much as it did on my iphone

I use GPS Navigation in my car, where there is a charger.

I use Pandora for short spurts, maybe an hour max at a time. It doesn't seem to be that big of a hog. Definitely less than watching a video for the same duration.
 
Check your battery usage stats. The biggest hog is when the display is on. If you keep playing with Pandora, you will use 10x the power as if you let it play for you. Same with GPS, it uses most of its power because the screen is on the whole time and the timeout is probably disabled. DImming the screen should help some.
