Help GPS Performance?

How is the Galaxy S III's GPS performance? I have been struggling w/ a phone that takes 5 to 10 minutes to get a GPS lock for the last couple years. I live in a major metro area so it's not a matter of network coverage--just a crappy phone.

Has the Galaxy S III been reliable in terms of locking onto satellites quickly?

My Sprint/S3 with JB works great with GPS. Fast, accurate locks. Even works on an airplane in airplane mode (and this is the good part) using the plane's Wi-Fi for data.

a gps RECEIVER is RECEIVE only so it should not affect any of the airplane's systems...

and since you are receiving GPS data from the satellites, it should not need or use wifi...

More specifically, Google Maps worked over Wi-Fi while getting GPS in airplane mode.

Pre 4.1, it took about 20 seconds to get a solid lock, about 5 for a half decent one. Now with 4.1 it locks on solid, best I've ever seen with anything, in under 3 seconds.
