GPS problems on GT-S5660

Hello,
I have a Samsung GT-S5660 and the GPS is not working well (initial fix comes only after about a minute - interval between fixes is very long). I found posts about it which recommend to dial a *#*#3214789650#*#* but when I do so the phone does... nothing. In fact the sequence typed in disappears from the screen and nothing happens. I am on Android 2.3.3
Any sugegstions what I should do?

looks like I am the only one with this problem...
 
GPS is set in Settings (if that is what you mean) and I do receive GPS fixes. The problem is that it takes extremely long before I get the first one, and delays between fixes can be very long.
 
I was asking about AGPS, not GPS. Do you have "use wireless networks" enabled in the GPS settings and are you connected to your networks internet, because if its not enabled and you are not connected, what you are experiencing is normal.
 
Could be nothing more than GPS having a hard time getting your fix, like if you are indoors, or the area around you has too many tall buildings. For example, downtown areas are more difficult to get a fix off than in the country.
