GPS Question on the Avail with no data plan

Hi,

If I get the avail as a gophone on att and choose not to get the data plan, does anyone know if any of the GPS software available would allow me to download a region and use the GPS with out a persistent data connection? I want to use the GPS on my bicycle to track my rides. The whole purchase depends if I can do this or not.

co-pilot live usa and pro apparently do this even though I don't see the option anywhere.

Copilot live, and sygic, i use both without a constant data plan. I don't know if you could without updating at some point, but i only turn on data once in a while for the gps. Hope that helps.

doesn't google maps allow you to download an area and keep in in cache?
