GPS Signal Lost

magnetism

Lurker
hi guys,
The first week or so, everything seemed to be fine with my GS3/Verizon.
But the past week, I'm often seeing "GPS signal lost" with Navigation and also another app (Waze).
I uninstalled Waze, but it doesn't have any effect.

I turned off battery saving option.
Any idea why the GPS signal keeps dropping ? I am 100% it has nothing to do with my city location. my car GPS works fine in the same spot.

magnetism, did you ever get this resolved? I had the same issue. We went to Anaheim Cal near the beach, and my phone kept loosing it's GPS signal. We finally had to use my wife's trusty Razr Maxx.

My GPS was working fine the first time. Then in settings -> location services, I turned off the google location services and I don't think I had anything checked off. Your options are vzw, standalone, and google services. After I did this, the GPS was bunk. Then I put the google location services and things worked again.

I have all the services checked, so it has everything at it's disposal. A few days ago I was using Google's navigation and this time the GPS seem to work, but the data service was not working. I tried everything I could think of, but had to eventually cycle power on the phone to get data service working again.

Another issues is that sometime the GS3 takes forever to find a GPS signal.

yorklab, I did a factory reset after backing up my photos.
I think the problem is software related. I have not installed "Google Street View" yet.
Since it was working fine the 1st week, and then i allowed all apps to update, I think the problem is one of the apps interfering with the GPS. (could be Street view also).

But after the factory reset, things are working fine. btw, Verizon Wireless Customer care told me to physically remove Battery & SIM Card. But that did not fix the issue.
