worst gps ever slow as ****, if you're under a roof, it won't do jack shit for you.
doesn't matter if you are standing next to a window.

Is there ANY way to make GPS respond better?

Also, HSPA+ is very spotty in chicago, won't work half the time.

Really? I've heard the complete opposite for this model. Other Samsung phones, yes, but I heard this one has a good GPS. I really hope you're wrong.
 
Who Should I call Samsung or at&t?
I bought my phone new from eBay, and i don't. Think at&ts going to help me out just because eBay isn't their authorized retailer.

i would say samsung did you download GPS test from the market and test it
i live in Oklahoma on 3g where i live i get a lock on 5 to 8 sat in less than
10 sec at 15ft

Is it an AT&T SG II or the international version? If it is international call Samsung, if AT&T you can try them. Buying off of ebay makes it much more difficult. You might wanr to see about returning it and simply buying from someplace where you have options if the phone is defective.
 
att here doesn't care where it was purchased. They recently replaced my eBay Infuse without problem. If it is the international model you are probably sol.

They told me they look up the esn to see when it was first activated. Didn't even ask for a receipt only my phone number. YMMV

Samsung requires a receipt for warranty service and it can't be eBay.

Yeah i just downloaded gps test and ran it.
I get 1 satellite in view 0 in use. 0 accuracy.
Im gonna try this outside tomorrow and see if it gets better result.

Sammy got this one right... The vast majority of SGS2 owners are having no problems with their GPS... Sounds like this person got a defective unit. Might be why it was for sale on eBay...
 
GPS is not supposed to work inside of a building. It is a line-of-sight technology and needs an unobstructed view of the satellites to work.

Sometimes you get lucky and get a signal inside if you are near a window or skylight, but that's just a bonus... not a designed function.
