Grabbing OTA package

There could be a new firmware package for the SPH-L300_VMU soon (hoping the new OSS kernel is an indicator). I didn't pay close attention to the original update to my Victory, was wondering if the update package is accessible after download but before installation? Is the download package saved to /cache or /tmp? Can it be pulled via file manager or adb? I've never tried to grab an OTA before, so I appreciate any advice you guys have.

When the Elite had a OTA update we were able to use adb to pull it from the cache partition and were able to open it up with any archive/filemanager. Not sure if that would be the case for your phone though.

That's what I've suggested to a user. Once they get the update, try to prevent rebooting, and pull /cache by whatever means works. Thanks, fingers crossed!
