Great LG SmartWorld update!

Well, this was a nice surprise: I own the G4 H815 flavor, the UK unlocked version, which I'm using on the US AT&T network, and up until today I was unable to download anything (themes, circle clock faces, etc.) using SmartWorld because my LG account is coded as "US" but the SmartWorld app has no US option. This morning, however, I opened SmartWorld, selected "UK" as usual on the opening screen, and was offered an update to the app, which I accepted (nothing to lose!). Turns out this version introduces the concept of a "device account" as an alternative to the "user account" (I may not have the vocabulary exactly right) whereby, if you agree to it (make sure you do), the device itself becomes enabled to access all free downloads from SmartWorld, no questions asked.

I just downloaded a new LG Home theme as a test, something I've never been able to do until now. I'll now go explore SmartWorld with a vengeance, but I thought I'd first share the happy news with fellow H815 expatriates. :-)

Can anyone confirm? and maybe offer a more authoritative explanation of what actually changed here?

Jacques.

To clarify, this new feature is called the "Device Authentication Service" (according to the app's menu) and appeared for me when I updated SmartWorld to v4.6.6.
