It's unfortunate that you're not having the best experience with the phone but I'd just like to point out that there are already two threads about this on the front page:

In any case, if you followed more updated news on this, you would have seen this on 10/4/11 with HTC's response:
HTC confirms security hole, says patch is incoming -- Engadget
 
I agree with the Op. Hearing about this security flaw has me thinking twice about staying with Android. Or maybe just HTC.
 
Your alternative is iOS where this type of data is already shared. There is no security problem like this when your information wasn't intended to be secure in the first place.
