Help Green light comes on, but no screen...

Hey guys, created an account on here to ask this question, because no matter how much I try, and google about, nothing's working.

Past week or two I've been having problems with my phone. Once it goes into hold (I press the hold button and the screen turns off) it won't come back on. I'll have to take the battery out and turn it back on.

Now today, after doing this again, my phone didn't come in. It was on about 5-10% battery at the time, fyi.

I do get a green LED light when I plug in my USB and hold the back button. I've tried updating the phone through the companion software on my PC through 'repair home' (plugging in the usb whilst holding back, waiting for it to update/wipe everything on there). Then when it's done and says to disconnect the USB and turn the phone on, the phone doesn't turn on. I get a usual vibrate when holding in the power/hold button, but nothing's coming up. Could it be that just my phone's battery is empty, and I need to leave it on charge for the night? Is the battery knackered?

I'm not getting a "Sony Ericcsson" or logo or anything like that, the screen is just not coming on. No backlight or anything

Help would be appreciated.

It is not likely to be the battery, however given what you have tried I would have to say that it is likely a hardware issue. With this being the case I would have to advise that you get the phone back to the place of purchase so that it may be assessed by an authorised repair agent.

I wouldn't have thought it was a hardware problem. Not for why the screen isn't turning on/phone coming on anyway. The screen worked fine, until I had to take the battery out again. After taking the battery out and putting it back in, just didn't come on. I'd get the vibration, but nothing.

I'm going to try use Flashtool now.

My PC detects the phone with no problems.

I don't want to have to send it off, when it's only a software issue.

I would have said it was software except for the fact that you successfully ran a repair and the problem has persisted. Please do let us know how you go with Flashtools.

Well for now I'm going to leave my phone on charge (no charge screen comes up, no LED either, but no harm in trying) overnight.

Right. I've manged to get my phone to turn on about 3 times.

Only problem is, as soon as it goes into sleep/hold or whatever it's called (after pressing the power/hold button, or not interacting with it for a while) it won't come back on. I woke up this morning to here a phone call coming from it, but I couldn't get the screen to come on. As soon as it goes into hold, that's it. Ever since then I have constantly keep taking battery out, SD out, etc. Update (re-install the update) the phone (It's not recognized by my computer either as r800, it only recognizes it once i've held in the back button, or when it asks me to swipe the screen of my phone, select this and that, etc) and after hours of doing it dozens of times, it'll come on.

Honestly... lol

EDIT: I'll add, I've also flashed it with a generic ROM too. It's come on after that (not immediately), but still the same problem.
