i have got the application 'greenify' which as i understand it closes background apps upon screen off. however when you turn screen back on you can still see applications in multitasking. is there a way that you can remove these applications from multitasking also?

Put simply, greenify disables the application until you go to use it again. Its not triggered by the screen.

If you want to immediately send the app back into hibernation after using it, open greenify and hit the Zzz button.

so the way your explaining it to me it sounds like greenify is no different to an task killer?

Not exactly.

Task killers just close the app, which as you may be aware can cause issues because the app just restarts and you have a never ending game of cat and mouse with the task killer killing and the app restarting.

As I understand it, greenify "hibernates" an app, preventing it from being able to autostart, but is still available to use whenever you want to manually open it.

The next time the app stops running, greenify automatically sends it back into hibernation.
