Greetings with Samsung Questions

My name is Jack and my wife and I finally came into the 21st century by purchasing our first smart phones. I got a Samsung S3 and my wife a Samsung Nexus. I have the Ice Cream Sandwich and my wifes Nexus has Jelly Bean. Both phones working good with one exception. I am on the road a lot and have MyMotospeak installed with a comparable Bluetooth. The ONLY issue we have is my wife's Nexus and the dreaded Google Voice system. She cannot get the GV app to work with her Bluetooth. I have researched this issue and found threads in here with same issues. What I've discovered is what third party*apps*will not work and the phone is not rooted so the Titanium app will not work. I don't feel comfortable of knowledgeable enough to root this phone. I guess we are stuck with this until the next update comes out from Google?

Thanks DC. I do not want to take the risks of rooting, so is there ANY temporary fix or work around until Google steps in? I want my wife hands free on the road. I definitely will NOT upgrade my S3 to JB that's for sure!

I am assuming the issue has to do with receiving calls and having the "Press 1 to accept" not working because she would then have to unlock her phone???

Otherwise it should pair up correctly.

The only work around for that would be to go into the Google Voice settings on your computer and disable call screening...

Otherwise have you just tried to get your wife a car mount and that way she can just talk directly into the device and only have to press 1 button to answer the call, i know it really won't help much with hands free, but at least she won't be looking down at her phone to answer calls.

I will look up a little more to see if there is a work around.

Also make sure you have a bluetooth device that compatible with A2DP phones

Hi Jack i am a silver surfer,i read up about rooting my Samsung Galaxy S 2 and did it in the end,it was fairly simple if you follow instructions,it can become tricky putting roms on but you don`t have to do that so do a bit of reading.

Her problem is that she cannot get Google Voice to recognize her voice commands. Sometimes she gets them but mostly not. Most of the time the only way she can successfully place a call is to do it manually through the phone.

Her BT is Motorola H730.

Can GV be disabled and a third party app such as Motospeak or Vlingo work at that point? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Well i did some digging and alas it seems the best method to rid yourself of this issue is by rooting the device to get rid of Google voice...sorry about your luck :(

That's what I was afraid of! Well lesson learned is that I will definitely not upgrade my S3 to JB!!! I will just have to come up with plan B of some sort.
Thanks for the help and research.
