Help Grey icon boarders

Konnected

Lurker
Hi
My operative system is Android 5.1. I have recently noticed that most of the apps icons are surrounded with grey like boarders/frames. I don't like them and unfortunately I have not seen any help online. Anyone with idea on how to get rid of these frames?
Thanks in advance.

In the attached screenshot, you will see most of the icons surrounded with the undesired grey frame, except the calculator icon and the icons on the last row. I appreciate your time in reviewing my issue. Thank you.

My phone is called BLU pure XL. Before this phone, I had Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and most of the apps were transferred from Note 3 using superbeam.
I'm not sure I understand very well that aspect about the launcher or icon pack in the reply.

The launcher is the interface you see. The desktop if you will. Different manufacturers use different launchers, which may cause icons to look differently. Old versions of the Samsung launcher for example, had multicolored squares on which the icons site, similar to the way you currently have your icons sitting on gray squares. There's no way to remove that other than to use a different launcher app.

By that, I guess you mean factory reset reset is the only option, since I don't think I can choose what launcher to use? Thank you again.

A factory reset won't do anything to change it. You just need to download a different launcher from the Play Store.
