Help grouping contacts

I just bought a new Samsung Note 2. This is supposed to be a simple question.
I am trying to group contacts. I added a contact. It's added to SIM, a SIM tag appeared in the contact.
And I hit the Groups button, select a group eg Co-workers, press the + next to Search window to display contacts, But the contacts appearing on the screens are the contacts with the google tag only. It doesn't display the contact I just added.

How can I group contacts I added using the contacts on the Note 2.

Hi

You cannot save sim contacts to a group. The sim card has very limited data storage.

If you want contacts in groups but restricted to your phone (and not in a cloud server) save them to "phone" and don't link them to Google.
