Help GS-5 losing (phone) connection to ATT towers!?

Strange. Recently 6-month old my GS-5 occasionally looses phone connection and signal strength drops from the usual 3-4-5 bars to 1. Can't make or receive phone calls or get 4G LTE. My GS-4 on the SAME family ATT plan works fine.

Restarting the GS-5 brings the connectivity back up again for a few more days, then it drops ATT again. The GS-4 always hangs in there. All the while, my wi-fi and everything else works fine on both units.

Has ANYONE experienced this? Could this be a faulty device? Note again that a restart fixes everything. Help....

I'm on Verizon and just today, while talking my phone dropped out.

I turned DATA off and back on.... theoretically that had absolutely nothing to do with loosing the cell site.... I suspect it was more the fact that I drove about 3 miles further down the road and found a new cell site and all was fine again.

The fact that your phone is doing it periodically means something is amiss.
I think that I would do a restart of the phone first, if that don't help, then try clearing out the Partition Cache.... just might be some temporary files there that are confusing things a bit. Can't hurt and just might fix it.

Thanks again, AZ.... The cache partition option could work, if only I had the guts to try it -- thinking I might screw the phone up royally.

But so far, the past few days have seen the GS-5 flawless. Fingers crossed....
