GS2 won't let me write emails

The phone lets me enter the address and the subject but when I try to write the email the entry box just flashes orange and doesn't show the keypad.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

The only time anything like this has happened to me is when I have been playing games and changed the input method. Have a look in Settings->Language and keyboard and check that the correct entry is ticked under Select Input Method. This would normally be Samsung keypad (although on mine it's Better keyboard 8 - it's a huge improvement on the standard keyboard).

If it's not that, can you enter text elsewhere OK?

Yeah the correct input method was selected so it not that.
I can type everywhere else without a problem its just the box to enter the email that I can't select.

Try K-9 instead, it's much better than the default email client and it's free. I bet K-9 won't do this.
