GS2PreloadBackup/GS2PreloadRestore Scripts (XXLSJ/XWLS8)

Thanks Hawker, nice one.

I think you aught to have a go at a kernel of your own, I bet you could do one. Mind you having said that the flak gokhanmoral gets is IMO not worth it.

Nice one old stick!

That'll save me a lot of fannying about flashing multiple kernels and CWM Recoveries. :)

There's usually a reason if Hawker goes quiet...

1. He's cooking up a new mod or script for the SGSII. (Happens all the time thank goodness)

2. He's watching rugby and then down the pub. (Most Saturdays)

3. He's enjoying his conjugal rights. (Leap years with a blue moon in them) ;)

v1.01 (31/01/2013)
1. Backup device can now be specified in /sdcard/MyBackups/MyBakDevice.txt
eg. /storage/extSdCard to backup to external SC Card
2. Progress now given during backup operation of the size of backup complete

Hawker/Ironass, can you confirm that the following is correct.

So I'm going to flash a new rom. Currently on an LSJ build.
I'm guessing the steps to back-up and restore my rom (if I need to) are as follows:
Back-up using CMW
Back-Up preload/partition using Hawkers thing.
<New rom goes to shit at this point>
Restore using CMW
Restore preload/partition

Updated to V1.02

v1.02 (13/02/2013)
1. Numerous display updates
2. Log file now goes to /sdcard/MyBackups/HawkerLogs so that they are grouped with logs from my other scripts

GS2PreloadRestore v1.04 (22/02/2013)
1. Now restores /preload/symlink instead of whole of /preload for greater flexibility in dual-boot systems
2. Current /preload/symlink contents removed before restore giving a better snapshot for the restore point

GS2PreloadBackup v1.03 (22/02/2013)
1. Now backs up /preload/symlink instead of whole of /preload

GS2PreloadRestore v1.03 (22/02/2013)
1. Current /preload contents removed before restore giving a better snapshot for the restore point
2. Progress now given in Mb during the restore process
