Good morning, I'm hoping to get a bit of help / pointers on why the GS3 is abusing my home network so badly!
The Story
My wife and I both just got the GS3, so we have two of them in the house. Previously I was on a Windows Phone 7 and my wife had the GS2. Since we've both had the GS3, we've started to notice some weird network problems as follows:
These issues went on for several days before we tried a few (not very scientific) experiments - for example, I tried to get on BBC iPlayer and it failed to load (again). We then both turned off wi-fi on the phones, restarted the PS3 and tried again ... worked first time. I tried to play a video file streamed from my laptop to my PS3, but it located 0 media servers, even though there were 2 running and it had been working previously. Tried several times with no luck. Rebooted the PS3, still wouldn't find any media servers. Turned off wi-fi on the phones, rebooted the PS3 and everything worked fine.
It 'appears' as if the GS3 is almost constantly abusing my home network ... being new to android, I'm not really familiar with all the settings. So could really use some help - what could it be downloading? How do i stop it without negatively impacting on apps? E.g. I don't just want to stop it from doing EVERYTHING ... I still want it to let me know when I've got an email for examplen and I don't want to have to turn wi-fi on / off all the time.

- Downloading speeds / browsing speeds on the internet decreased quite dramatically
- PS3 unable to locate media servers / unable to play media across the network if it ever did find the server
- PS3 unable to open BBC iPlayer (TV Streaming application)
