Help GSM Galaxy Nexus can't be updated

My GSM Galaxy nexus which i bought through STC (Saudi telecom company) is not the type which can be updated directly through Google ! so I have to wait for the carrier to update , and i don't think they are aware of this issue . and until now am still stuck 4.0.2 ... Please Help ! i need to update without rooting or anything like this

I don't see any other way to update other than to root and install a custom rom. Otherwise you're stuck waiting on your carrier to push out an OTA.
