Root [GSM] Trying to flash kernel

demops

Lurker
ok so i have been flashing my kernel in 4ext for the past 10 mins. IT is still flashing the new boot.img for the kernel. Is it normal to take 15 mins? OR is something wrong?

Sounds like something is wrong. A kernel should flash pretty quickly.

Might double check the md5 of your download. Also make sure the file is flashwble via recovery

Are you s on,or s off?

Hello again. Im interested to flash custom kernel for stock rooted ICS. . It would be easier for us if we had a CDMA version

But i have GSM with s_ON and 1.53 HBOOT ...
Does anyone have experience with that what i need?

with s on,kernels will not flash in a permanent recovery. you must use fastboot to flash the boot image,or you must launch your recovery into phone memory with the fastboot boot command.

I personally don't care for utilities,I prefer to just manually boot recovery,or flash the boot image.

I usually run stock on my 3d,so I'm not certain about kernels. Im sure there are a few if you look on xda :)
