Gt-p7300 and 2.2 support

hello,

So i finally got myself a brand new galaxy tab 8.9, very nice device but the non-support for making gsm phonecalls is rather disturbing.
This tab is sms-able and 3g, i think it can do phonecalls but it's blocked somewhere in the OS

I don't carry a mobile and i don't want to. My tab is my mobile phone.
My last galaxy p1000 tab had complete phone support having the 2.2 installed.

I was wondering:

1. If it's possible to downgrade from 3.2 to 2.2?
2. If successfully downgraded, do you think that the phone app will appear? ?

Thanks for any help i can get.

There is no 2.2 ROM for the Tab 8.9 as it launched with Honeycomb. Samsung has never marketed it as supporting handset functionality and nobody has yet to custom build an app or ROM to do so. I'm afraid you bought a tablet, not a phone.

The good news is that you bought a great tablet,so enjoy!

I don't have too much experience with this myself, but you might be able to use Google Voice as your phone service since it's already 3g enabled. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
