GTA III coming to Android!

But it still supported. If Nvidia paid for exclusivity, then there would be no Qualcomm version at launch. I think R* is telling the truth, the SGS2 version needs extra work to get it working. R* isn't the first company to encounter this issue.

The only difference is the compressed texture formats, if they used the standard format used by all phones that support OpenGL ES2.0 they wouldn't have this problem.

Gameloft do the same thing, it's done purposely. Nobody will make extra work for themselves when it can be avoided.

Ya, it appears to be running on quite a few more devices than what they said. I'm still downloading it at the moment, but I'm seeing quite a few reviews from people with SGSIIs, which they specifically said would not be available until a later date.

I'd be interested in seeing what things they left out for each device version. Thing that seems to be lacking for the EVO 3D/Adreno 220 is lighting. Stop lights and cars, for example, don't have any lights whatsoever. If I remember correctly, GTA3 on the PC had that stuff.

Installing/downloading on the Asus Transformer and Galaxy S II right now, kinda slow though.

Will post feedback once i've tested both.

EDIT: Barely playable on the Transformer but it does have better lighting, drivng at speed is very difficult due to the low framerate, makes the cars very twitchy.

Poor lighting on the Galaxy S II but it does feel allot smoother, more playable.

Correct about PC and PS2 as well.
