Shatterproof's thread : http://androidforums.com/connect-4g-all-things-root/751012-vv5-firmware-baseband-stock-rooted.html
Ldrifta's thread : http://androidforums.com/connect-4g-all-things-root/579097-rom-ms840-number_two-v1-8-zva.html

1. DL Shatterproofs VV5 baseband.zip from
DropBox : https://www.dropbox.com/s/l0wdnizbutdxkdm/Baseband-VV5-Connect.zip or
MediaFire : Baseband-VV5-Connect.zip
2. DL either Shatterproofs stock/rooted VV5 recovery http://db.tt/Zf8dmh2J,
or ldrifta's Rom #2 v2.0 http://www.mediafire.com/?2k0d32eqm9ls05w,
Alternate link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dh69dcflt28bgzj/MS840_NumberTwo_v2.0_vv5.zip
3. Place them on your sdcard. (Some folks say not on the root of the sdcard, I dont think it matters. recovery must be unzipped into /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup)
4. Reboot into recovery. Either through CWM --> "Reboot into recovery". Or "VolDown + Power" --> Power --> Power.
5. Wipe data/factory reset.
6. Wipe cache partition. (I like to go into "mounts & storage", then mount & format /cache, /data, /system, /sd-ext on top of steps 5 & 6)
7. Advanced --> Wipe Dalvik Cache (I like to wipe battery stats too)
8. Install zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard --> find the baseband.zip(I like to reboot into recovery after install)
9a. " " find Number2.zip
9b. Backup and restore --> Restore --> find Shatterproofs VV5 backup(must be in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup)
10. Reboot system, enjoy, and dont worry about it anymore

This is great. I plan to start backing up this weekend with titanium backup, plus make a nandroid backup, and hopefully when that's all done, update to VV5. I'm gonna take my time backing up as I'm new to that also, and I want to be careful not to forget anything I want backed up.

Thanks again.

I've tested this method on every version and ROM available for our phone. Go for it. The only requirement is root.

So i am having the problem is there going to be a fix for bluetooth for vv5 2.0? Also where did all the custom top bar notifications go like the numerical battery life and data icons?

Rom related questions should be posted in there respective thread. However, it sounds like you're better off flashing shatterproof's stock/rooted ROM
