GV won't verify droid x

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and have searched for an answer but cannot find one. Here is my issue:

I have google voice set up
I ported a Sprint number to GV
I am able to verify my landline and a verizon LG cell phone - works great - calls ring on each.
I have a new Droid X with a new verizon number
Have GV on the Droid and it sync's with my google account for voicemail.

The problem is that GV will not verify this number. Just gives me the response that "We could not verify your phone. Please try again." So the Droid does not ring when calls come in to the ported number.

Any suggestions?
