Hi all, just wanted to drop a note and say hi.
I'm currently trying to learn all about the rooting process and flashing roms or whatever. I have a DroidX (not going to mess with that - yet) and a Viewsonic GTablet I bought so I can do homework and whatnot while on the road. Not having much luck with it as the stock UI and all is garbage - I can't do anything I want. I need to find some way to unlock pdf's (already tried Adobe Reader, Aldiko, GoAruna PDF Viewer and OfficeSuite [free trial]). None of the applications allow me to input text into the requisite fields in order to unlock them.
So yeah, that's why I'm here.
 
Welcome to the magnificent world of rooting. the droids are taking control of my life. ahhhh. Have a fun time learning about the rooting process. This is a great place to learn.
 
Yeah, I'm reading a large thread now on rooting the gtablet but I'm confused at step #1. LOL It says [HOW TO]: Root, Install a Custom ROM, Fix the Market, and Add Flashand step #1 installing clockworkmod with no explanation on how to root. I thought you had to root in order to be able to install CWM? Here I am at step one and already lost. LOL

Can you modify these PDF documents on a PC/MAC? Some PDF documents are specifically designed to not allow the end user to modify fields...

There are no fields to modify other than the login page which is the first page. Here, I'll take a screen shot.

No matter what I do I can't get the keyboard to pop up so I can input text. They need to be unlocked everytime they are opened. I just rooted and installed VEGAn Tab but I'm not sure if there's anything I can really do...
 
Hmmm, honestly I hadn't thought about converting the pdf. That might work but it would require me to do everything through my laptop first, then transferring everything to my tablet. I will look into it, thanks!

The first link is for Windows only and the second link didn't work for me too well. I tried it but it did not convert very well.

I tried the pdf converter too but that didn't work either.
I bought several office apps and none of those worked either. Ezpdf, documents to go and office suite - none of the full pro versions worked.
I'm not trying to edit or convert the pdf at all, I'm simply trying to open it so I can read it. You'd think there would be SOMETHING out there that would open a password-protected pdf but so far I haven't had any luck.

what part of NH u in? im in manchester ur the first person ive sen on here from nh or even new england lol

None of those pdf apps worked, btw. Looks like I'll be selling a Viewsonic Gtablet here shortly...
