HALP!! Shattered my screen..

So maybe this gorilla glass ish isn't as epic as I hyped it up to be. On the way back into the gym from the track I dropped my spec while holding the door open for some people. It fell maybe 4 feet and the screen is completely destroyed. I can still see the screen, and touch works a little, enough to get me by the next 2 maybe 3 days.

Does LG warranty cover this? (less than a year old)
Are there decent cheap screen replacements? (I know about google)
How the **** can the epic gorilla glass shatter from such a short fall?

Is it the actual glass that shattered or is it your touchscreen behind the glass that is shattered? Run your fingernail over the bare glass and do you feel bumps on the glass?

Both ways the screen will look like it shattered. Gorilla glass is not supposed to shatter from a drop that low.
 
It's more resistant, doesn't mean wont happen. Scratched up a few already, had a few 4+ foot drops and got lucky. Do you have insurance on it?
 
I have insurance both through insurion and through the store just didnt wanna shell out the deductible..

Everything seems fine, I can see screen clear and touch works just like a bunch of cracked glass on top.. got splinter:mad:
 
if you have a full protection plan all you would have to do is pay 30 dollars and get a new phone...boom just like that :P

its 100 dollars for 22 months of protection but its way worth it

Yea, The outer most layer, everything else is mint....

Easy fix? Can just swap glass?

Wait huh? $30 for new phone? Through verizon? fill me in yo, im gonna try and sort this beginning of the week. If I can get completely new handset thatd be awesome..

i have extra insurance through the cellular connection where i got my phone. you pay 100 dollars up front and if you break your phone, doesnt matter how either they will replace it for a 30 dollars restocking fee

Was a true story for me. Blanked the IMEI through someway im not sure of...;)... No 30$... Free refurb. Worked perfect. At least no worse than the new. Even was in better shape than my original.... :D
 
mine has been gone and replaced with an invisibleshield since Feb or March.

EDIT: Mother F**ker!!!! Mine just fell a total of 30 inches and f**king broke from the top left corner across the screen about a 3rd of the way down. This is with a silicone case and screen protector.
 
$99 for a freaking refurb... thats BS!

edit: i think the phone is going to get restored to stock and develope some major rebboting and instability issues.
