Hand gesture to wake up phone

I wonder if you guys could help me out here.

I have updated my moto x from KK to LP. All is fine and snappy etc, but I'm not sure if I have turned anything off, because waving my hand over the screen doesn't seem to do anything any more? It was working fine. I have been playing around with the settings to get the phone to my liking - I may of accidentally turned something off, I'm not sure.

Could anyone give me some pointers please.

Open your Moto App, tap the gear in the top right, select actions, then select approach for Moto Display - make sure check box is checked.
