Help handcent and messaging

ive tried searching the forum for the answer because i saw it before in a post. ive just got 2.2 and have reinstalled handcent but i cant remember how to switch off the double alert. any help welcome

Isn't it open the stock messaging app, then Menu -> Settings
and uncheck notifications.

brilliant. thanks clockwork58. new it was something simple just never thought of that lol. used handcent since last july when i got the phone and just couldnt remember how to do it. ive just spent the last half hour looking back through the forum pages to see if i could find a thread. got to page 9 before i checked this post lol
