Handcent any good?

I'm looking for a messaging app that can send to more than 10 recipients at a time (which is the limit on the stock app) for text messaging. I believe Handcent allows this, but wanted to get impressions first. Anybody use this, want is your opinion?

I think that handcent is far superior to the stock app. I just don't like that touchwiz locks the stock app on the bottom of the screen, so I use go launcher to customize my android layout.

I have used handcent for years now and refuse to go back to the stock messaging app on any new phone I will ever buy. The customization options alone make handcent a much more versatile and in some cases usable app. Couple that with timely updates from the devs and you have one very nice messaging app.

As for changing out the icons on the bottom of the screen can be done multiple ways if I remember correctly. Personally I just use a different launcher program (ie: Go Launcher EX, or LauncherPro) which gives me more home screen customization options as well as the ability to have multiple "dock" bars. Another option would be to possibly look into changing the defaults for launching messaging/handcent. Though IMO I would just get a new launcher app because I dislike the whole Sammy TouchWiz interface.

Go SMS is pretty good. I was using handcent but I think thus is much better. Plus it has the ice cream sandwich look.

You can edit the buttons on the bottom of the screen. Click on Applications, then EDIT, change to Customizable View. You can now drag Handcent down to replace the stock messenging app.

Been trying to figure out how to do this ever since getting the phone. So simple if you just know how! Thanks to people like you we all benefit!
