Help Handcent custom notification problem

Has anyone else had this problem? I just downloaded Handcent and when I try to set each contact with their own notification ringtone for text, it works for about 5 minutes and then reverts back to the default notification. I know I'm doing everything right because I test it afterwards and it works, but five minutes go by and EVERYTHING reverts. Any help?
