Help Handcent mms as a slides how

For those of you using handcent, does your picture messages from other people come in as a slide show every time?

Mine shows a play button for me to push. However when I push it, it takes me to my locked pattern screen. Then I have to unlock the phone and then push the play button to see the picture. It is a pain in the butt.
 
Some of mine do that too. Drives me crazy. They will open as a picture the first time and after that its a slide show - of one picture. Also drives me insane that it will not let you save pictures to the SD card-EXT. Only to the phone. I keep thinking there is a setting somewhere that I either messed up or it changed, but it never did it before. Just in the last week or so.
 
Actually a Google search brought up another thread on this and their suggestion to double tap the picture worked. Tap twice and no slide show. I just wonder why it started that all of a sudden.
 
I tried double tapping the play button I get for picture messages and it did not work. Thanks though.
 
I just double tapped in the text message itself. Didn't open the picture first. Try it as it sits in the text message itself.
 
If I long press the picture and chose "view picture" I get a slide show.
If I double tap the picture, it opens as a picture, not a slide show.
 
I am referring to when the notification Window pops up on the screen as soon as the message arrives. It shows a play button. I see the photo if I open handcent and look under the persons name it cane from.
