Handcent question

Ive been using handcent and I love it but I get text notifications from both that and my phone and it makes my phone so laggy, how do i fix this.

Is anyone else still getting multiple notifications? Sometimes I get one, other times it's three, and sometimes I get as many as five.

The only prob I have with Handcent is that there's a big delay between getting a text pop-up notificaton and the tone alerting me that it's received. Usually (if I see it as soon as it arrives) I can almost be done replying to the text before the tone even plays. Not a big deal, just slightly annoying.

Same here. No delay and no multiple notifications once I realized I had to disable them in the stock messenger.

I get one notification but I have handcent configured to "remind" me if I don't acknowledge receipt of the text so it'll chirp at me periodically but it's really only the one notification.
