Help handcent sms app

Hey does anybody know when you have the handcent sms app installed how do you stop the regular sms app from being active as to have the handcent app being the only sms client that is on? I was able to turn notifications off and that's cool but if in using handcent I don't want 2 sms apps running......is it possible?

yes it is just open your stock sms app and click menu/settings/notifications and un check it

opps my bad.. I misunderstood a little.. No! you can't have Handcent and Uninstall the stock sms app. if you do so you wont be able to text or send or receive pics at all

This is what I figured lol I'm just really paranoid about the battery. I have a task killer app or whatever and my battery still seems to suck. I guess that s what I get for shopping on Craigslist lol.

All Android phones suck up battery life pretty quickly.

They apparently take forever to charge too, lol. Are there extended batteries for the moment?

There are several ROMs and Kernels that will provide a substantial increase on battery life. You should check them out.

wich ones? also where do i get the actual roms and kernels after (or for) rooting the phone?
