handcent sms noob

I have my eris for about a week, and I love it. How do I make handcent my default? Can you set it to display as a full page on the home screen?

As for the home screen, I dont know of a way to do it like the default one. Just add the icon to your homescreen.

Open the "Messages" app (the included SMS app) and get into it's settings menu. Un-check "Notifications" and then back out. Open Handcent and then it's settings menu also. Make sure that "Notifications" here is checked.

Now, I'd suggest that you delete the "Messages" icon and add the icon for Handcent instead. As for full-screen, it doesn't look like Handcent offers that. I added the Handcent widget but it only adds an icon, not what I'd call a "widget".

I had Chomp and liked it but I missed having the trackball light up as a notification so I went with handcent and like it just as much

That's what's great about the Eris and Android in general...there's something for everyone.
