Handcent sms. Permissions.

Hi.

What do you guys think about Handcent sms? I'm looking at it's permissions it requires and i think some of them goes a little deep.
Is it a safe app?

100% safe. One of the most popular messaging app's on the Market. Been using it for over a year now.

Always wise to ask though, if in doubt.

Off hand, I'm guessing it needs it to read the stock SMS/MMS logs.

It is primarily used for debugging the application. However, a lot of information is provided in those logs. For instance, if the app crashes on receiving a text message. The content of that message can be sent to the developer.
