I have been working with Handcent all day getting the issues on the Galaxy S3 fixed. So far we fixed the LED blink (you cannot change the color or frequency just yet) and are working on a fix for the facebook contact photos not showing on ICS and general. Just figured I would let everyone know that a fix is coming for it soon..I personally can't stand the stock messenger app so this is worth my time to get it fixed up :P.
 
Oh, thank you so much! I really want the blinking colors, I miss having them different for all my contacts. Any idea when it will be done?
 
The contact pictures wont be done anytime soon I would imagine. The developer said thats a work in progress but he did figure out how to do it.

Temporarily, you can get pictures by going to your google contacts webpage and manually adding the photos. Those DO show up in the handcent list.

We are still working on different colors for the LED, sadly can't seem to get that straightened out at this point.

Edit: we are done for the night. 13 betas later and we still haven't gotten the led to work with different colors. If you'd like a working beta for the blue led let me know and ill ask the dev tomorrow if he will permit me to pass it along.
 
The newest update fixed the led problem. It took away the customizable colors because Samsung really dropped the ball on the colors. If you read the light flow FAQ it shows just how messed up they are.
 
Yes the LED is working, but only blue. Unfortunately it is the same as my Gmail notification so I have to look to see what it is. :mad:
 
if you use lightflow and are rooted you can make the leds blink and have different colors for different applications, even different contacts i believe. if youre not rooted i believe it still works but the colors are not right, but there is a guild to the colors on the developers website
 
Still waiting on this? Maybe they need to hire away one of the developers from the GoPro team. They've had this figured out for a while now.

some times i get hancent has stopped working. not sure why but happens few times in a day..

i use lightflow pro and my s3 is NOT rooted. all the default colors work fine except when i use custom colors which definitely does not work. does custom colors work on rooted s3?
 
Has this issue been fixed? I'd like to have my LED blink the correct colors and also assign custom notifications for specific contacts.
 
OK... I fixed my problem. Instead of syncing my contacts with facebook to get contact pictures, I chose Friendcaster instead.

Friendcaster functions like facebook, all the way down to syncing contacts so therefore Handcent now works.
 
am i right to say there are no third party apps (go sms or chompsms for example) that allow the led to blink?

im sure a lot of people on here dont like when the gs3 screen turns on every time a text comes in via the stock messaging app. I tried to use go sms so the screen wouldnt turn on when i get texts, but the led stays a solid purple color instead of a blinking blue color.

Everyone claims android devs are "good," but gosms, handcent, text messaging devs are jokes...
