Never heard of this problem before...

Does it show any bars at the top right? Or do you mean your data (3G connection)?

If you're talking about your data connection, go into settings -> wifi and networks -> mobile network -> and make sure one of your settings says "WCDMA and GSM", and maybe turn on Data Roaming too, sometimes mine doesn't work without data roaming on. Even though I'm not roaming...

it doesnt show any bars on the top right no signal then. when i go into settings- about phone-status under network it says unknown.

Yeah, it sounds like your phone hardware or software. But I'd try a factory reset, and then if that doesn't work bring it back for repairs!

I can text and make phone calls however no matter what I do I get no mobile internet signal- it tells me "the network is unreachable" even when other people also on orange around me are getting mobile internet signal just fine..... :(
