Help Hard bricked?

I tried updating my phone to Android 2.3 with LG updater this morning but it failed. I have no idea why.

A message saying that the update could not complete appeared. I looked at my phone and it was on emergency mode. I unplugged it (I had to go to work really fast), shut it down then tried to reboot it. Unfortunately, only the LG logo appears. It doesn't boot past that.

I tried some of tricks here to press buttons while plugging battery such as volume down + menu + power but nothing works at all.

What is the proper way to update if it fails with the LG updater?

Please help me! Thanks!

Well, I think I will return it to LG for repair. Looks like it's bricked for good...

Hi! Sorry for the late response. How comfortable are you with the adb console? Because you might be able to recover through adb if you install a recovery image. Details are in the all things root thread. The best way to see if it works is to install the LG drivers if they're not installed, plug in the phone, type in adb shell from a command prompt. If it says "Device not found", I think not much can be done. If it changes to a $ or # sign, you have shell access and can probably recover.

This gets really technical though, so if you don't feel at ease, maybe replacing it through LG might be easier, allbeit a little long.

If any of you are in the Montreal area and require Unbricking, I may be able to help! Just PM me for information! (There might be a fastboot access on our phones, found info digging through Ally forums)

Thanks for the response Karendar.

Yes, I am from Montreal and I brought my cellphone to PCCell in Ste-Catherine St. and they told me that the motherboard is ****ed up and there's nothing to do with it.

I will go there tomorrow, pay the $35 repair fees, plug it and try repairing it again.
