Hardware Button Music Advance app?

Has anybody tried "Music Control Lite?" This was developed for the Droid and I couldn't get it to work for the Hero. But I've been looking for something like this for MONTHS, something where I could advance the songs by pressing a hardware button (i.e., when I'm on a treadmill from my pocket without having to swipe open the screen). Blackberry's have allowed you to advance or go back by hard-pressing the volume buttons since my old Curve. Does anybody know anything that does this with the Hero?

I know I can get a BT Headset with the buttons but my Hero rooted, non-rooted no matter what ROM I'm on just skips and slows to a crawl in BT mode ever since I got it last October...

Darchdroid 2.7 has a mod to the music player that allows you to do this with the volume buttons to forward/rewind and/or with the trackball to forward

Thanks dpeeps, I'll try it - I'm on Fresh 2.3.3 now - this has been bugging me since I've had this phone - my prior regular non-smart phone had this capability - and has really made me wish I got the bbery instead. Does it work with the regular HTC music app?

the only time i recall seeing anything about it was on darchdroid roms and it seems like i may read about another rom having that capability many months ago before i ever even rooted, but i could be wrong on that. it seems like I saw a music player from the market that had this as something you could enable. to the best of my knowledge though, no it's not something you can do with the HTC music player. darchdroid uses android player and is modded to allow for it.
