Has anybody tried to unlock there metro S4 yet?

i was told only verizon and at&t has their locked i mean if we think about it metro sell their phones upfront so they dont lose money by allowing their devices to be unlocked. but who knows.

yea, I should have been more specific, sim unlocking, and the xda method didn't work, tried it earlier, and they are the same model, m919

Let's refrain from talking about unauthorized sim unlocking. It is is illegal per the January 2013 update to the DCMA to do so without carrier permission after all.

not trying to argue, but hasn't the m919 been out for over 90 days? so in theory of it being a tmobile device(albeit having a metro pcs branded rom) and us being legal owners of the device, why would it be considered illegal? again, not trying to argue, just asking

Yeah, hopefully Congress will get it's act together and finally pass HR-1892 to start the process of repealing the ban.

In the meantime, since we can't legally unlock phones without carrier approval and that was what this thread was about, I'm going to lock it since it has no other purpose. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to pm me.
