I have a Razr Maxx and love it, and got the HD dock primarily for charging at night while using the phone for an alarm clock. Problem with the dock is that it is not designed to be used while a case is on the phone. It can be made to work with the "kickstand" case that Verizon sells if you take all of the adapters off the dock, but it still sticks out when used this way which just bugs the crap out of me. And i refuse to take it in and out of the case each day.
In looking at the dock, there is this raised area on it (see picture atached) which appears to be put there just to provide spacing, though I can't be sure. I'm toying with the idea of trying to cut the raised area away, which i beleive will solve the problem (call me obsessed - i just appreciate having things fit the way they ought too). But before I do, I figured i would check here to see if anyone has taken one of these docks apart - I am wondering if there is anything important behind the raised area...
