Help Has anyone ever REALLY solved the pixellated contacts picture issue in 2.1?

Hi,
I'm being driven batty by this issue...2.1 is great...except for the two issues with the sorting of contacts, and the contact pictures...

I've tried:

200p x 200p at 11 ppi

200p x 200p at 150ppi

400p x 200p at 11ppi

400p x 200p at 150ppi

The latter two because of the resulting size of the contact pics in the Xperia...they are not square...but rectangular...

No matter what I've done...they aren't "tack sharp" as they are in 1.6 on the Xperia...on that OS they are deadly sharp......

Has anyone got any additional light to shed on this issue?

I'm NOT sync'd with Google by the way...and these are new contacts that are created....and they are still blurry

Holy Crap...it's fixed!

I used 1600 x 1600 at 250 ppi...it does seem to be fixed as long as gmail isn't synced with it.

1600x1600? That's a bit huge! and 250ppi that's near enough print quality
Does it work with a bit smaller res? Like 800x800 250ppi?

at 1600x1600 a picture is about 3meg at max but I guess you can turn the quality down to get it to about 800kb. I'll have to have a experiment but I'm worried it might make the phonebook lag a bit as the x10 loves a bit of lagging
