Help Has anyone had any experience with Asus Warranty Dept.?

I'm curious if anyone has had any dealing with Asus and there warranty department? I recently spoke with them about some light spots I have on my screen. There is an area that has multiple light spots that are very noticeable when watching movies, viewing pictures and what not.
After talking with them they gave me a number and an address to send it back, so I backed it up, reset it and boxed it up to send it back.

Curious if anyone has any experience with the warranty process? good stories, horror stories?

I have. after the second-last firmware update, my front-facing camera wouldn't go on (would freeze the tablet altogether or reboot it-a known issue). they fixed it. on the RMA note, I also wrote about light bleeds all over the place. I think they corrected a couple of those bleeds, but they didn't bother me that much to beginwith, so I don't mind the remaining couple.

From the time I sent it in, I think it took less than two weeks to get back (in Canada, sent to their center 20km away, but they wouldn't let me drop it off in person).

The above said, I think it came back with a pretty big new scratch on the screen. Can't prove it, but I've been pretty careful with it myself, so I don't think I made the scratch (always have fingerprints on there, so maybe I did and didn't notice).

Oh, and camera issue has been fixed.

I just sent my cable and charger back, I was disappointed that they wouldn't send me one before I had to send mine in, so I bought a spare from office depot, $30 I didn't want to spend...

Good info, thanks guys. My UPS tracking number says it was delivered on Friday, the RMA status says it has not been received my them yet. I figured because it was Friday and it may take time. I'll let everyone know how this all works out.

So I checked the RMA status of my Transformer this evening, It says not only that they received it, but that the repair is complete and its ready for shipping. Good deal. Now we will see how long it takes to leave them and ship back to me... and the quality of the repair.

With the retaining power with the keyboard problem sent back via RMA to Czech republic fixed within week all in two weeks without tablet. service very good only thing is that the tablet is set back to factory default so have to go and get all apps back.

This is not a problem as the Market already knows which apps you have or the tablet retains some of its settings.

My Transformer spent a total of 2 days getting repaired and is on its way home, should be here on the 21st according to the tracking information. I'm satisfied with the repair time, had hoped for quicker shipping, but not a big deal... I just want it back, lol.

turnaround was fast on mine too. I just wish they'd also accept drop-offs by customers.

That's the silliest thing I have ever heard, They done even ship back with the same shipper that it was sent from (e.g. I sent UPS, they returned with FedEx) As long as the information is on the box the way they request it I don't see why it cant be dropped off. Next time just find a delivery truck driver and ask him to swing it by for you, lol.

I'm curious if there is a report of the problem and the fix, like what they did to fix it, did they replace it stuff like that. I'm just a couple more days away from getting my Transformer back so I guess I will know then.

fedex says the 21st, so I will let you know if there is a repair report, and what they sent back....

I can tell you they had me fill out a survey, I am pretty sure it was related to my registering the unit, I expressed my displeasure over them not sending out a charger while mine was in transit.

I received my TF today via FedEx. It was packaged very well for a return trip, my box surrounded by cushion blocks on all sides. Inside I found a paper with all my info on it, and what was done. It has the model with my serial number on it, a description of the problem, next to that is the new part number they replaced, a description of the part and a description of the user problem. In my case it said that i had color bleed in the screen. The entire screen was replaced. They did wipe it, but that's ok because I had saved my info to the sd card and kept the sd card home.

All in all I'm very satisfied with the whole process, the only thing different I would do personally is ship it faster to them, but they got it fixed and back to me quickly for such a large company.

my box arrived yesterday also

a 12x12 box filled with three very well cushioned boxes each one containing a single part that made up the 3 part charging system, just a little over kill, the report listed each part, with error associated with it, and the new part number.

I stored them all away in the little box that the charger came in from officedepot, hopefully it won't fail for awhile...

my only complaint would be that since I had a charger issue, and it seems to be fairly common (from what I have read on the internet and everything you read on the internet is true), I would have like for them to send me a replacement while mine was in transit, had I not bought a new one my unit would have been out of service for quite some time

I purchased my Transformer in late October last year. From the time I received it the key board dock would not read a thumb drive or sd card. Thought it was something I was doing wrong. Searched forums for the next several weeks for an answer, hard reboots, soft reboots, data wipes, turning off and on with thumb drives in or out. Finally called Asus, and while on the phone with them they had me do pretty much what I have tried. They had me RMA the keyboard dock, after a 10 day turnaround (which is not bad) I connected the pad to the dock and to my surprise same issue. The Holidays were busy so I did not have time to deal with it. Last week I purchased another keyboard dock just to trouble shoot, and still the same problem. After asking around I found 2 people that have Transformers and met up with them to test mine. Put their pads on the docks and thumbdrives and sd cards found. Called Asus, RMA the pad yesterday. No complaints at all about their service, 10 day turnaround is fine, customer service was great. Been a Asus fan for years and a little issue like this will not turn me away. BTW, I love my Transformer.
